Seans photography, drawings and digital images from travels, architectural work or idle speculation. Interesting to me in some way, and possibly part of the narrative of a specific journey- but sometimes a narrative can get too long winded! The images are loosely orgainised in the themes listed. Landscapes and cities are mostly shown in the travels pages.

animals - creatures we have got close enough to with a camera and short lens to smell, touch and/or scare off, depending on their survival strategy or appetite. Occasionally we got too close. Creatures of the human variety (homo sapiens) are covered in the people section.

artefacts - May include the largest collection of pictures, as I have a nerd's interest in How Things Work. These objects are good subjects as they are A: generally stationary and B: do not object to being photographed. The buildings section includes some photos used in pubications or online for publicity purposes.

events - Family weddings or other parties and gatherings; the occasional sports fixture, fireworks, festivals, dancing, shows.

elements - Natural processes, revealed by natural or artificial means. Rocks, sand, water- frozen, or in motion. Often associated with the sea, a beach or other coastal features, but also volcanic activity or weather.

people - As most of our inbuilt sensory and processing equipment is tuned to deciphering the motives, emotions and actions of our fellow humans. I'm just the same as you, or am I? May be not!

plants - Edible and inedible. Stretched (very thinly) to inclue fungi, lichen, algae and any plant matter that has gone through a process of some sort- like fossilization or conversion in to a fence post.

design - Images from the processes of design, construction or recording as found. Computer generated images are often actually generated by other people, but are of design work that I am invoved with in some way during the process. The images are credited accordingly.

Photos are captured with digital or chemical cameras, drawings are scanned in directly. More details are available in the site office, if you are interested. Most images are from the last five years, but some go back to the 1980s. Most of the categories overlap in some way..! |
