Infrastructure

Much of my NZ experience at Beca was in the design of buildings for the enclosure of mechanical infrastructure. These are demanding, industrial type projects, requiring detailed consideration of such issues as process noise, corrosive chemical environments, high security from human threats and resilience to natural disasters such as earthquake, vulcanism or flood. Health and Safety is always a prime concern, for operational personnel, and for the surrounding residents and the local environment. The operators of these facilities view them as vital to the survival of their organisation.
