Helsing Kisby has a number of domestic scale projects currently in progress.
These include the complete re-cladding of a large beach house built during the ‘leaky building’ era ; a complete re-model of a 1950’s bungalow; the careful insertion of new garden doors in a 1920s English Cottage style villa; alterations and new kitchen for a suburban house built in the ‘nineties.
The wide variety of construction methods used in New Zealand during the past 100 years present an interesting challenge, especially in the current regulatory flux, driven by the continuing ‘leaky building’ crisis and the additional focus on seismic vunerablity after the Christchurch earthquakes.
Recently completed Auckland projects include:
Matipo Road House – Feasibility study for the refurbishment of a house built in stages between the 1960s and 1980s.
Church Street alterations – Completion of the detail design for a new bathroom and other alterations in a 1900s villa.
Complete refurbishment of a 1940s ex-state house – including new kitchen, bathroom, and external deck.
